Inclusion Criteria: * DSM-IV diagnosis of schizophrenia * PANSS-T of at least 70 at screening and baseline Exclusion Criteria: * Clinically significant disease of the heart, kidneys, liver or gastrointestinal system * DSM-IV diagnosis of psychiatric disorder other than schizophrenia
